February 10, 2006 - Friday night tournament : NEW HILL RECORD!!!! St. Paul's conditions were prime for a night of flying! St. Paul Ski Club member Johnny Lyons flew 166 feet last night on the K46, breaking Kip Sundgaard's record of 163 feet, set in the early 1970s! He tied the record on his first ride, after tying it twice on January 20th. Brian Wallace, age 12, flew 162 feet, and Christian Friberg, age 11, flew 150. As one spectator said, "I could watch this kind of skiing all night long." It was a sight to behold. Brian was heard to say, "The club better get a longer (marking) chain!"
